How to Learn to Play Piano Fast

In fact, I can almost guarantee it...regardless of the approach, style, teaching method or the amount of practice in which you invest.

But do you really want to know how to learn to play piano fast?

Not me! What I really want is to do is learn to play piano...

"Fast" - I do not want to mess around with a bunch of music theory, hours of tedious practice and learn boring technical detail that will suck the life out of my quest to become a good piano player,

"Well" - Learning to play is a short amount of time is great but only if I can learn to play well. What good is learning to play piano fast if what I play is repetitive garbage? And,

"With Emotion and Originality" - What good is it just learning a bunch of notes, scales and chords if all I can do is play from memory some lines from a sheet of music, 'copy-cat' some songs from piano 'tablature' or just replay borrowed piano 'licks'?

If you have arrived here at this article, then maybe you are like me and your goal is not just to learn the basic notes and chords on the piano. Your desire is to learn how to really 'play' the piano with originality, learn and use your own creativity and create music that comes from your heart!

Sure, learning popular songs is fun and will impress those around you. And frankly, I would expect that it is a necessary element of any piano instruction and an important step in learning to play. After all, who wants to learn a bunch of music theory if you cannot have fun doing it while learning how to apply what you learn?

I am looking for something more - I need something more...

I took piano for several years when I was young and I hated it. Practice became an ever-increasing chore. The more I was forced to the piano, the more I resented it.

And that is really a pity!I love music.I love the piano. Is it too late for me to learn to play the piano?

Well, I have realized that the answer is no...it is not too late for me to learn. And that is what I am going to do.I am a 'piano quitter' no more!

As an adult, my passion for music is stronger than ever. I have dusted off my piano and put away those painful childhood memories of forgettable piano lessons and hours of tedious practice that did little more than eventually stifle my enthusiasm.

I want to learn how to play piano fast but more importantly, I want to learn to play "well".
